YOUR CONFIGURATION GUIDE

Corner sofas explained

Corner sofa names can look complicated, but the letters simply describe the individual seating sections that join together. Understanding these codes makes it much easier to choose the right shape for your home.

L1 / L2

Left-hand module with one or two seating positions, depending on the collection.

R1 / R2

Right-hand module with one or two seating positions, depending on the collection.

CO / COR

A corner connecting unit, linking two sections to form an L-shaped arrangement.

LFC / RFC

Left- or right-facing corner/chaise-style module used in selected layouts.

FST / FSS

Footstool modules used to create a chaise-style return or extended lounging area.

AU

Armless Unit: a modular seat without side arms. It fits between other units to extend the sofa or adjust the seating arrangement.

L2, CO, R2

An example arrangement: a left two-seat section, corner connector and right two-seat section.

Important: Left and right refer to the named modular parts, but facing conventions and abbreviations can vary between ranges. Always use the exact product layout diagram and dimensions before ordering; the diagrams show arm positions, backs and overall footprint.

THE RIGHT FIT

Measure once. Relax for years.

Before choosing your corner sofa, think about how you use the room as well as the overall dimensions.

  • Measure both sides of the proposed sofa footprint.
  • Allow clear space around doors, tables and walkways.
  • Check where the corner, chaise and sofa arms will sit.
  • Confirm access through doorways, halls and stairs.
  • Compare available upholstery and seating options on each range page.

Plan your corner sofa layout

A corner sofa can make good use of a living room, but its configuration matters as much as its overall size. Always check the illustrated orientation for the particular range.

Check left and right orientation

Manufacturers may describe left- and right-hand arrangements differently. Use the product diagram and your floor plan to confirm the arrangement before ordering.

Measure the whole footprint

Record both sides of the corner, the chaise projection where applicable, and the circulation space around coffee tables and doorways.

Plan the delivery route

Measure stairs, door openings and hallway turns as well as the finished position in the room. Sectional sofas may have multiple components.

If you are unsure about a corner configuration, share your room measurements with a showroom team so the correct orientation can be checked.
